Note: you will need to have the latest version of the Kidzternet browser (as of June 2007) for the Player to work. Note also that the Player is in Beta, meaning that features could change before the final release date. However, the developer's intention is that KidzPlayer will always be free of charge, even once it is complete.
This new and exciting technology will allow you to play online games via the www.autismsoftware.co.uk website. It requires the Kidzternet browser, which can also be downloaded free from this site.
The Player is based on KC2 technology, as part of the KidzCoder series. Because of this, the games (or other interactive programs, for that matter), can be written with KidzCoder 2 itself, making them easy to write too.
The games are run "through" specially-written web pages on this site, just like other interactive (or "multimedia") online games do. They're very fast to load (they should generally take no longer than five seconds), and have a wide range of features, including pictures, animation and sound, where appropriate.
All that you need to play the games is this Player and the Kidzternet browser. Kidzternet is a free Internet program, designed for children with autism. In future, there is a possibility that KidzPlayer may be made compatible with other browsers, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer. This may change with future releases.
